Hey guys - latest news

The weather at the moment   - check it out. We are in the centre of it and can't leave the house without the help/car of our very friendly host Sonja.

Yesterday we dared to go out, because it wasn't raining much - at first! We went to Universal Studios to go on some rides and watch other funny and INDOOR attractions. It was fun, though I got a little sick on the "HULK" coaster! But that didn't last long. :-)

Of course the rain got heavier and heavy wind gusts whipped across Universal town. But - again - we survived and had fun. The bike is standing in front of the house and will have to wait there until we leave for 'home' - Charleston, SC. But as it turns out, FAY is hovering over us for at least one or two days and will hopefully turn towards north west so that we can go up the east coast without worries.

We can't do anything in that weather except getting wet - so we stay at the house and cook, watch TV (the Olympics),  surf the web or take a ride with Sonja to the shopping centre across the street.

more news in the next days :)

Key West - Fort Lauderdale - Orlando

Hey guys,
sorry but my English didn't get better so I'll write in German now. After me Kris might add something in English :-)

Uah, guts Naechtle!

Rock you like a hurricane!

Hello world - today we rode down from Naples to Key West. There were millions of cars coming towards us on the other side of the road, but noone was going in our direction except us!!! Oooooh, scary! We watched the weather channel earlier and they said something about a hurricane or thunderstorm that MIGHT hit the west coast of Florida and, of course, first Key West. Well, we got through pretty rough wind but as we entered the 7 Mile Bridge it was almost gone. Where the F'&%$# is the hurricane... not in sight yet - we'll see.

Before we went to Key West we had to go straight through the Everglades. And we made it - yay. We ran out of gas in the middle of nowhere but found a gas station before the last drop of fuel reached the engine... HAPPY! And we saw alligators and did an airboat ride...so much to tell when we get home.

Check out the pictures below - we had fun like all the other times despite bad weather or too much sun:

Mickey Mouse in the house - Kris and Conny airboat riding

The Everglades from boat perspective

Thunderstorm coming up - or not...

On the way to Key West, short stop on the beach.

Southern most point of the USA

Conny - stuffed from Denny's food.... yummy

Conny didn't recognise me without my nose protection

THE map and THE route - we almost stuck to all the time... ?!?

Yummy, alligator food for Kris - bad Kris. Before we came to Naples we played some adventure golf in Fort Myers/ Fort Myers Beach with small alligators. They were hard to hit :0

There she is - Tigra Woods

Good night - sleep well in your Bettgestell

Heather - for you in English

Hey folks,
yeah, we're still alive. And we weren't able to report because we had no internet access on the way down from Niagara Falls (North Tonawanda) to Atlanta (Stockbridge). Conny and I stayed in 2 motels as we came down south over the Appalachians on road 219 which was pretty curvy and brought the bike to its limit. Well - we were in need of a new rear tire because we drove the old one down to the inside - you could see the wiring of the tire - HIGH ALERT!!!
Thank God we found a place called "Cycle Werx" and they were able to fix the bike within half an hour for a good price. Eventually we came to our host David in Stockbridge close to Atlanta at 7 PM. We could relax for an hour and then he took us to bike night which is every Thursday in a small suburb of Atlanta. We got there by motorcycle! FAST!... See pics -->

David has a beautiful home with two funny and loveable dogs Thunder and Smitter. His garage is stuffed with motorcycles and he likes to ride them (every day...almost) Thanks for letting us stay at your awesome place and meet really nice people who enjoy riding as much as we and you do.

Today we were heading for Gainesville, Florida to HEATHER, yeah - she is so much fun! She has a nice home and her cats are just adorable. She had dinner ready for us and now we're all stuffed. Thank you, honey! Unfortunately we have to leave tomorrow morning to get to Naples and further south on our trip until we finally arrive in Key West the day after tomorrow. This will be great and HOT. The weather is hot and humid - you get out and start to sweat - here you really appreciate A/C!!

That's it for now - stay tuned for more news in English ( so that the rest of the world can follow, too)

Keine Angst...

wir leben noch! Juhu! Morgen mehr...
